    Region Meeting:

    There were 18 attendees at the Region 4 meeting, which was held on Saturday, October 25 in Atlanta, Georgia. Collections were a major topic of conversation. Most attendees agreed that the practice of obtaining a credit card, prior to performing service, was a must. Some attendees even obtain a credit card for a warranty call. This helps eliminate the servicer being responsible with the cost the manufacturer, rep, dealer and/or end user will not pay which is not covered under warranty. Some attendees offer a discount for cash or payment within 10 days. When discussing “choosing your best business partners,” all agreed that the relationship with a manufacturer was to be a “partnership” vs. a “dictatorship.” As in any relationship, if it’s not a partnership, it may need to be dissolved.

    Shannon Sykes, Authorized Commercial Equipment Service and David Hahn, FESCO, agreed to serve as Region 4 co-leaders. The site for the next meeting had not been determined. Thanks to Joe Pierce, Pierce Parts and Service, for arranging and facilitating the meeting.
