CFESA Business Code of Ethics

 FIRST Members will conduct their individual businesses in a manner to insure the good will and confidence of the public whom they serve.

Which means, each member will adhere to any warranties made to a customer and will make good on any job undertaken to the satisfaction of the customer under that warranty.

SECOND Members will represent manufacturers in an honest and intelligent manner so as to create an atmosphere of mutual trust and understanding and best serve their combined interests.

Which means, each member will promote any and all manufacturers they represent in an honest manner in order to promote both the member and the manufacturer. Members will refrain from making disparaging comments about the manufacturer or their equipment directly to the customer.

THIRD Members shall not participate in misleading or false advertisements in the representation of their individual businesses.

Which means, each member will not falsely represent themselves to their customers.

FOURTH Members shall maintain financial and liability responsibility. They will be able to complete properly and uphold their guarantee on any work they undertake.

Which means, each member will maintain proper insurances and financial responsibility on all work that they perform.

FIFTH Members shall maintain adequate equipment and qualified personnel so as to perform quality service to the public and the trade for fair, equitable and non-discriminatory charges.

Which means, each member will adequately provide for the well-being of his employees as well as provide continuous training and education for them to effectively repair commercial cooking equipment.

SIXTH Members shall not perform, or cause to be performed any act which would tend to reflect adversely on our industry, fellow members, competitors or manufacturers.

Which means, each member will not conduct business that would adversely affect the association, their fellow members nor the manufacturers whom they represent. This would involve unfair billing practices, illegal practices, etc.

SEVENTH Members shall comply both in spirit and letter with rules and regulations prescribed by law and government agencies for the health, safety and provision of his employees and the public.

Which means, each member will maintain any and all insurances legally required in order to maintain the safety of his employees. The company will also provide the safety equipment and training necessary to comply with expectations of government agencies and prudent business practices.

EIGHTH A member will not entice unfairly to his own employ any employee of another member. He will assist other members and competition where possible so as to upgrade our industry and warrant continued public confidence.

Which means, each member, including all of that member's employees, will not initiate direct contact with employees of another CFESA member with the objective of enticing them to terminate their present employment either directly or through their own employees.  A member may advertise in magazines or newspapers and if an employee of another member's firm responds to that ad, this would be permissible.  Members will work together for the betterment of the association and the industry.

NINTH Members shall support the sale and use of original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM) parts.

Which means, each member will sell and install OEM parts for those manufacturers they have contracted with.
